). Tomorrow's Child. Mother is carrying a child, but she wonders what kind of world she is to bring her baby into. Dad is away for a fair amount of the time.
). Simple Simon. The birth of a baby boy, called Simon, born into a world not of his own making and not by his own choice. Sucked in by the illusion of television but sheltered from the harsh truth of the real world.
). Soldiers (Part 1). Simon plays in the garden with the toy soldiers that dad bought him. Meanwhile, Simon's father is involved in N.A.T.O. exercises in Germany, as joint forces participate in a massive wargame called Operation Crusade.
). Why Does She Cry? Simon's father is killed in the Falkland Island's affair. His ship explodes in a ball of fire when hit by an Exocet missile. Simon comes home from school to find his mum in tears. He wonders what has happened and his mum has to try and explain.
). Skinhead (Bigfoot). Simon is disturbed by the loss of his dad. His attitude to life seems to change, and as he grows older he becomes increasingly more difficult for his mother to handle. In his teens he decides to become a skinhead and develops certain unsociable habits.
). Riot (Southall). Simon goes with his mates to a pub in Southall, to see a Fourskin's concert. The local Asians plan a welcoming committee to greet the intruding skins. A fierce riot breaks out. Bricks and petrol bombs are exchanged. The pub catches fire in what becomes a bit of a free for all. Police are slow to respond.
). Twisted! Simon comes home with blood all down his shirt. His mum is in bed at the time but finds his shirt the next day, and after seeing the news on the television, questions Simon about the riot. Simon gets lippy. Mother really lays into him telling him to snap out of it or get out.
). Sick and Tired! Simon wanders down the street aimlessly kicking a tin can. He has no job and no money and is fed up and angry with his mum for having a go at him. He thinks of a way to get back at his mum and decides to go in the army, like his dad. At least he can learn a trade and get away from home.
). What Are You Doing Son (Going in the Army!)? Simon breaks the news to his mum last thing at night, his mum is very distressed and pleads with him not to go. Simon ignores her pleas and goes off to bed. Desperate and at her wits end, Simon's mum looks towards the photograph of her dead husband on the mantlepiece and prays for some help.
). Bullshit! As a new boy in the army Simon gets a taste of the bullshit. Many people are beginning to see what needs changing in the world. Some comfort amongst much disorder and distress.
). Other Ways (The Dinosaur Song). As Simon grows older he begins to think. Tragedy in world affairs and tension between the powers dominates the news. He too begins to wonder if there are other ways.
). Own House in Order! Simon looks more carefully at the establishment and the political system. He decides that our own society is far from desirable. He observes that the responsibility for the way things are must rest with the people in charge.
). Peace on Earth. As tension climbs between east and west, there is a desperate cry for peace in the world but the situation gets worse. As talks breakdown and tension increases, governments are thinking in terms of conventional back up to protect their interests.
). Soldiers Part 2 (The War Machine). Things begin to get out of hand! War-machines are mobilised, and troops are dispatched. Simon is informed to prepare for deployment the next day. In the concrete bunkers the generals and chiefs of staff prepare for any event. Politicians dismiss the likelihood of a nuclear exchange.
). Awayday. Simon gets embarkation leave to visit his mum and say goodbye. She doesn't want him to go but he says he has to. On the train he thinks back to his childhood dream and compares it to the reality that has crept up on him. The thought of going to war and ending up like his dad depresses him to say the least!
). London's Burning! Before Simon's train gets to its destination it is blown off the rails by one of several nuclear blasts. Great Britain has been caught in the middle and has drawn animosity towards herself. There was no warning! Simon is knocked unconscious, he comes round to see London burning in the distance.
). Oh Mother! Simon tries to make it back to the city but he's dying from the radiation. He thinks of his mother and of all the times she argued for peace in the world. He always had to argue with her but he was sorry now. He knew his mum would have been killed in the blast and as he lays dying he wonders if she could ever forgive him for the way he has treated her. He blames himself for the bomb going off.
). Wake Up! A Cry to all people with heads under the sand! To change this world, we need everyone to make the effort. Start with yourself. There is no room for war or animosity in an evolved lifeform. If we don't get that message, and keep behaving like dinosaurs, we will go the same way.
). Reflections. The idiots that worm their way into power all over this planet, and their pathetic differences of opinion that trash the lives of ordinary people, have brought us to the brink of the potential destruction of our planet and humanity. Reasons, points of view and statistics.
