A wise man once said that the only difference
Between men and boys, was the size of their toys
And looking around, I can see what he means
Watching grown men at play, with their doomsday machines
A good example to our kids we set this way
Teach them mistrust, that's how it is
So how can we expect the world to ever change?
When we bring up our kids to play the same old games
We like playing soldiers! We like playing soldiers!
Playing with our soldiers! We like playing soldiers!
We teach the kids values, we lay down the rules
Stuff them with soulless knowledge, in soul destroying schools
So why the surprise, when the kids vandalise?
Cos they're fighting the system, in a bitter reprise
Another war film flickers on the T.V. screens
The kind of war you'll only ever see in dreams
Too many innocent minds are suckered by the scenes
The hero is the man who fights, or so it seems
We like playing soldiers! We like playing soldiers!
Playing with our soldiers! We like playing soldiers!
Playing with our soldiers! We like playing soldiers!
Playing with our soldiers! We like playing soldiers!
