THOMAS ROAD IN CRAYFORD - ACCESS BLOCKED ONE WAY
Thomas Road links warehouses and trading units on the Optima Park trading estate to businesses in Kennet Road, such as the electrical wholesalers, R & B Star. Other than ignoring this rather unnecessary and inconvenient restriction, motorists have to go right back out onto Thames Road and get access via the roundabout at the other end of Kennet Road. A rather green unfriendly scheme and a significant waste of people's time!
The information listed below in blue has been provided by Bexley Council in answer to the numbered questions posed on this Traffic Scheme Enquiry Form and relate to the underlined scheme.

Dear Mr Tarrant,
Thomas Road junction with Kennet Road
Restricted Access by No Entry Sign
Thank you for letter dated 6 July 2017 regarding the restricted access between Thomas Road and Kennet Road.
As you will no doubt be aware the connection between these two roads was created many years ago and its layout and control is as it is at present. Since then we have experienced several office moves and on each occasion there has been a need to reduce the amount of archive space taken up by historical records.
Unfortunately in case of the Traffic Services Team, as we very rarely get asked for this sort of information it was decided that the records would no longer be held and were disposed of. I am sorry that we are unable to be of help on this occasion.

Dear Mr Woodhams,
Re: Thomas Road jw Kennet Road One Way Scheme
Access Blocked From Thomas Road To Kennet Road By No Entry Sign
Thank you for your reply dated 17/07/17.
As you have no data on this particular scheme, and given the inconvenience it causes, causing people to have to go considerably out of their way, is there any good or valid reason that you or your department can think of as to why this scheme is in place or necessary?
If there is no good reason, apart from the financial implication, is there any reason as to why this scheme could not be removed?
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Yours sincerely,
David J. Tarrant
