ALL IN HIS MIND

There once was a creature called mankind
Who was given freewill in his mind
He could choose what he would do
He could choose his point of view
The place where he lived was paradise
Such wonder and beauty, oh so nice
He had everything he’d need
He was free to live and succeed in this world

But he painted himself with labels
And conned himself with fables
He made up his religions
Incited his divisions
And he used these as reasons to fight his fellow kind
And he didn’t understand that it was all in his mind

Tricked into thinking he was different
But only because he was ignorant
Fooled by pigments in his skin
Fooled by figments from within
He screwed himself up with his prejudice
And behaved in way that was heartless
He danced on the graves of the others
And didn’t understand they were his brothers you see

He dressed up in a different uniform
Depending on where he had been born
He marched and paraded up and down
Showed off his weapons like a clown
He spent lots of money making arms
So he could kill without qualms
In killing his kind he did excel
And turned his paradise into hell
Cos he found all these reasons to fight his fellow kind
And he didn’t understand that it was all in his mind

Cos he found all these reasons to fight his fellow kind
And he didn’t understand that it was all in his mind
Cos he found all these reasons to fight his fellow kind
And he didn’t understand that it was all in his mind
