The Illuminated Web?

An illuminated web, to run alongside the existing web, where everyone connected, every device and every device location, is properly registered and identifiable. Meaning children, adults and elderly people can use it safely and with confidence.

No Confidence: Crime is usually committed in the hope that it will go undetected and unpunished. Of course, the perpetrators of criminal activity don't want to be caught. On the World Wide Web criminals go to great lengths to cover their tracks as they get up to no good. The bottom line is that the internet has become a minefield of criminal activity and potential trouble for the ordinary decent people of this world.

Forces Of Darkness: Where there is an absence of light, criminals can very easily operate unseen. Criminals can hide behind all sorts of things that enable them to steal from the ordinary decent people in this world. Many people of all ages, as well as some quite notable businesses, have fallen victim to blackmail, fraud and theft. It is very difficult for the police to do anything about this growing problem with the current World Wide Web setup because of the fact that criminals can operate without being identified.

Illuminated Web: An illuminated web would require everyone connected to it to be identifiable, traceable and accountable, registered with a set of unique identifiers. The system would have to know exactly who you are and where you are. Otherwise, you would not be able to connect. There must also be no opportunity to hide behind anything such as the Tor browser. For all those that need to carry out their covert activities, some of which are done for good, for example, trying to combat forces of evil, there would still be the existing dark web.

Safe Haven: Criminality and the law is always a game of cat and mouse and it remains to be seen how difficult this concept may be to achieve. However, where there is a will, there is a way. If it could be done, it would dramatically reduce the problems we currently face when using the internet, making it a much safer haven for all decent people to enjoy! Most people don't have anything to hide, or a need to remain anonymous when using the internet. Most people would, therefore, rather connect to a safer, illuminated web, and would sign up for it tomorrow.

ID Important! We are always told we should not physically let people into our homes without identification. However, currently, anyone can enter your home electronically, over the phone line, or via the internet, without providing identification. Criminals are themselves a form of virus. It may not be possible to eradicate them completely, but we may be able to isolate them and keep them away from infecting and affecting the rest of us!
